so - whos all goin to heaven? only those with the Jesus Stamp?
My general -nutshell opinion is like a lot of other things that may occur after my demise. I DO NOT KNOW. - and will not know til then. I do wonder what Jesus meant when he said "I have other sheep" ... I guess for now I feel like one..and want to encourage anyone and everyone to bleat together along with me.

Jiminy, I am with you....this loving God, I can't picture him sending anyone to "hell" or whatever. I don't even know if hell is real. I just don't know. Jesus told the the thief on the cross next to him that he would be with him in paradise, the thief didn't "accept" Jesus or anything else really...........

Before you go the Hell route, what do you do with what Jesus said; “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

I believe that scripture but I am starting to think that when he died he truly died for everyone (I know that sounds obvious but not so much) if you know where I am coming from. I can't help but wonder these days if that was a "once and for all" type thing for all of mankind. I don't know - still searching.

I see that scripture in Jn as part of a dissertation on the divinity of the Man Jesus. He wants the disciples to “believe” so they will understand Him. I don’t see those verses as “accept and your ok, question or deny and I’m all through.” It could well be that these statements about His unity with the Father are spoken as FACTS-whether you choose to “believe” or not. Could it simply mean that Jesus is saying_ Here’s some facts about me, and strange as they sound, they are true!” rather than – This is IT- do you accept or reject? When it comes to “salvation” and being “saved” ..can you show me where in scripture the place that says that your name is “added” to the Book of Life? You won’t find it. There are only statements about its removal. Could it well be that EVERY NAME of EVERY SOUL has been there since only God knows when? That correlates very well with the lamb slain from the foundation of the world, as well as room for every soul. What does it take to be “blotted out”? just my humble opinion, but theres a great story behind it too.

That is good stuff Jiminy. I can't imagine what it takes to be "blotted out" but I sure as hell hope I haven't done it!

Interesting concept.
However, what do you do with:
Matthew 25:31-46
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

I do beleve there is punishment for the wicked..See Malachi 4
1For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
sounds like an event..not a doorway to an eternal place of torment. I beleive the fire is eternal..not the contents. THats what Jesus said in Matthew. It was made for the Devil n his crew..since they are eternal beings..perhaps they reside there for eternity.
I see that as a more reasonable end..burn to ash. The big Poof. I guess its called the annialation (sp) doctrine- if you need to hang your hat on something.
It just seems to make sense in the merciful Lord I know. What pleasure would the God we understand get from watching the ETERNAL torment of unrighteous humans.?
and no - I am not certain about the Rich man and Lazarus..or looking for loopholes. I intend to study further that parable..for that is what it is.
